SILVER PATRONAGE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
Sunday 27th July 2008 (Week 30)
Monday 21st July - Entries Close
You've had all the Committee Meetings.   You've argued over the specials list.   You've torn your hair out when a judge cancels.   You've worried about refreshments, staging, and whether you will have enough helpers, but the schedules have gone out and now all you can do is wait for the phone to ring. . . .
Margaret puts the entries into the Catalogue.
ENTRY
Ivan & Bill record the phone entries.
572
30 less than last year, perhaps a little disappointing but then a couple of members are on holiday and one of last years exhibitors is a Subsidiary Judge this year, so we won't complain.
NOTTS & DERBY BUDGERIGAR ASSOCIATION

This year’s entry of 572 fell just short of the 2007 figure.   Ill health forced a change to the judging line-up at the eleventh hour with Colin Lamb replacing Bill Searle.   It was also Tony Hayes’ swan song as a judge as he is giving up his budgerigars to become a gamekeeper.   So much for retirement Tony!                                                                                                                                               There were some quality exhibits in all sections but you could say it was a real “blue” day at Notts & Derby with the major awards of Best in Show, Best Any Age and the Best Young Bird in Show going to two Skyblue Cocks benched by Messrs Devey & Wright.   Once judging had been completed local artist Jim Thompson got the paint brush out and produced a painting of the winning bird which he presented to the duo during the afternoon.
